There were definite gluten-free sections in the grocery stores--even 15 years ago. Of course, I had the help of my foreign-exchange family taking me around to show me what Norway had for celiacs. My biggest memory though was seeing signs in bakery windows advertising that they had gluten-free bread. We even took my picture in front of one of the bakery windows!
